Canary Allergy
Canary allergy is very similar to bird allergy. In fact the symptoms are very similar: your body reacts to the attack of the allergens by giving you watery eyes, nose dripping, etc.
The thing that makes canaries unique is that they live in small cages where they can’t freely fly, so this makes their feather more heavily loaded with the allergens.
Being in contact with these canary allergens will trigger allergic reaction in a matter of hours at the most (although there are some cases where the allergic reactions started after days of being in contact with the feather dust).
The symptoms of canary allergy
The symptoms are very similar to common bird allergy, these include:

Sore throat
By themsleves the symptoms are not fatal, but severe symptoms when they complicate can be fatal if untreated.
Here are some tips to reduce the effects of canary allergy at home:

Make sure to clean the cages thoroughly in a regular basis.

Don’t keep the cage overcrowded, this only multiplies allergens in the air.

Keep your canaries in a ventilated area.

Buy an air purifier to keep the air clean.
