Allergic to Dogs?

Many people seek to know if they are allergic to dogs.  That is a great question because when being around pets, it is easy to assume that they are responsible for our allergic symptoms.

If you own a pet the simplest way to check if the dog is indeed causing the reactions is to be away from your dog for a couple of days.  If during these two days you notice your condition improves, then I’m afraid your beloved animal is the cause, however don’t panic just yet.  There are ways you can live with your dog while controlling the allergy.

These are all responses of your body to what it considers a threat: the allergens.  Most of them are soft symptoms, but there are people who can suffer from sever consequences, specially asthmatic people.  The respiratory difficulties can complicate and become life-threatening.

Is your child allergic to dogs?  If the one with the allergy is your child, I would suggest you avoid getting a dog.  It is better than then having to take away the pet from your kid.  Although having a dog from a young age can help boosting our immune system against the allergens, if the kid has had allergy it can produce the opposite results.
